Testing of playground equipment and playgrounds

Playground equipment for public areas must meet the safety requirements of DIN EN 1176. Playground equipment manufacturers must prove that the facilities they build or sell conform to standards.

The test can be carried out on site (in the case of factory-assembled systems) or in the factory on the pre-assembled play equipment.

Tests for the commissioning of playground equipment

Before putting a playground or play equipment into operation, it is mandatory to carry out a commissioning test in accordance with DIN EN 1176. Of course, certificates or the like supplied with the device are not sufficient for commissioning (the installation location, correct assembly, distances and traffic area protection must of course also be considered).
